Salty Girl Holiday Special at Sand People

It’s officially Holiday Shopping Season, and one of my favorite jewelry designers, Amber R. Chesebro will be having an in-store trunk show on December 16th at Sand People located in the heart of Kailua.

Her artistic background includes working with mediums such as oil, watercolor, and acrylic painting, photography, ceramics, glass blowing, printmaking, and stained glass. After obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Fine Art from the Rhode Island School of Design, she discovered that it was jewelry that would capture and fuse her love of art and build into her profession profession.

Her take on island-inspired jewelry goes further than the use of seashells and ocean treasures, but uses the unique tropical patterns, textures, and natural design for inspiration. My favorite piece? The Sea Urchin earrings. They are bold, statement earrings, that can be styled as an edgy addition to a basic outfit.

Some of my other favorite pieces include the “Lace Seaglass” necklace. This delicate necklace is made of found sea glass on an intricately designed silver rope.

The “Kalo” earrings are cast sterling silver, representing the Hawaiian taro leaf, known as the “root” of the people.

Another one of my favorites is the “Rockweed” necklace. Cast from real seaweed, each piece is gently intertwined and melded together. The necklace is then littered with semi-precious gems.

Amber will be showcasing her pieces in person, as well as previewing exclusive designs only available online. She will also be serving hosted pupu’s by Sam’s Kitchen (known for their savory garlic Kahuku shrimp), and organic juices. This in-store special will be available for one day: all purchases will receive a free “Surfer Girl” leather bracelet, and 10% off of items priced at $100 or more.
